Project Description : Programmes belonging to Seven Organisation were handed over for enabling Year 2000 functionality. They covered different platforms ranging from Batch Cobol to on-line CICS-programmes with Year 2000 functionality. These programmes cut across application areas.
Responsibilities : Preparing programmes conversion instructions for manual conversion process, vesion control, conversion of programmes using in-house productive aids. Manual Conversion of programmes for extraneous cases. Modification of user interfaces like CICS Maps, MFS Screens, Report programmes, creation of datasets, test data preparation, Loading of test data, Unit & System testing and final QA.

Technical Queries Database system

Project Description : This System provides online technical information. The system maintains some keywords which are related to specific areas, allows entry of questions, entry of answers, query and reporting facility on unanswered questions, usage statistics.
Responsibilities : Designing screens, getting approvals, coding and assembling MFS macros, coding and generating DBDs and PSBs. Coding IMS DB/DC system compiling, link editing, unit and system testing and implementation.
Batch, BMP and MPP Programs were coded as a part of this IMS DB / DC System with checkpoint / restart procedures. VSAM, ESDS and KSDS clusters were created and used. Databases with types HIDAM, HISAM and GSAM were created and loaded with data.

Title : Porting of MBP Cobol to MF Cobol with Year 2000 Conversion.

Project Description : Functionality of the code was studied and the flow of program was identified. The assessment analysis and impact analysis were done for the 1 million lines of cobol programmes using the in-house Visual Basic Tool. The report generated giving the details of the programmes, number of Subroutines and impacted data fields section-wise were verified normally. Conversion of source code was done normally using appropriate conversion routines and the programmes were tested for various data. At the final phase error free compilation was done followed by unit testing.
Responsibilities : As a first part of the project analysing the program and to understand the functionality of the program and to create report. MBP Cobol codes were replaced with equivalent MF Cobol codes. After running the Porting tool program were analysed and the program were checked for error free compilation. After porting tools were run on the ported program and reports were generated by the tool.
The reports created by the tool were analysed and the original data impacted lines in Cobol which needs renovation were identified. The data impacted lines in the program were modified according to the report. Relevant codes were added to the program. The programmes were checked for different datas.
